Posted On: 07/30/2026 I went in for my routine annual visit. The experience was great from beginning to end. There was short waiting time to be seen and I was also greeted by friendly and helpful staff. Got a referral I needed for more dental care. I would recommend this dental facility. Simone

Google Review Posted On: 06/29/2026 Very unprofessional. The dentist had to get his manager to tell me he couldn't fill my tooth because it wouldn't last. I understood the risks and still wanted it done because I don't like how my tooth looks. Manager said it's not something he can do.

Google Review Posted On: 06/19/2026 What a complete waste of my time this afternoon…. I arrived there at 2:50pm. I left at 5:20pm without seeing anyone for a clean. I tried leaving saying I’ll come at another time but was told I’m next after seeing people coming in before me and leaving and even sitting in the back waiting over an hour no one said anything. Google Review Posted On: 06/10/2026 Avoid this dentist at all costs. I came in for an X-ray and was told I needed a filling, maybe a root canal. The dentist went ahead with the filling. A few days later, I was in excruciating pain—the entire right side of my face and my ear were throbbing. The pain was so severe I had to go to Brookdale hospital for a second opinion. After taking an X-ray, the hospital doctors informed me that the filling was too large and the dentist had actually hit the nerve. Even the strong pain medications the hospital gave me couldn't stop the pain. When I went back to this dental office to speak with the dentist who did the work, he refused to come out and talk to me. Google Review Posted On: 05/30/2026 I normally do not leave negative reviews, but my experience with this dental office has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
I originally had an appointment scheduled in March for a filling and even took time off from work to attend. The office then called and cancelled my appointment without giving a proper reason. Since then, I have repeatedly tried to reschedule, only to keep getting pushed further and further back. First I was told May, then June, and now September — at a time that does not even work for my schedule.
Each time I call, I am told the same excuse: they only have one dentist who performs fillings and they are “backed up tremendously.” While staffing issues can happen, what is unacceptable is cancelling a patient’s appointment and then making no effort to properly accommodate them afterward. There has been absolutely no follow-up from the office. I have had to continuously call them myself just to get basic information or attempt to schedule care.
At this point, I will no longer continue as a patient here because I do not feel patients are taken seriously. If someone is in pain or needs treatment, this level of disorganization and lack of urgency is unacceptable. Professional offices solve problems instead of repeatedly giving excuses.
What makes this even more frustrating is that when it comes to discussing insurance or out-of-pocket payments, there never seems to be any delay or inconvenience. Additionally, one of the dentists made an inappropriate comment to me regarding not being able to “afford” a treatment that was not covered by insurance, which I found completely out of line and unprofessional.
I genuinely thought I found a good dental practice, but unfortunately this office does not seem to have the organization, staffing, or professionalism needed to properly care for patients. Nina Google Review

I don’t feel like they listened to my concerns. I had an extraction at their suggestion and since then my gum has been swollen. I wasn’t able to go back to the surgeon’s office because of a problem with my chart so I came to Flatlands. Instead of trying to see what they could do, they tried to sell me an expensive gum treatment and have me open a line of credit. They then act like I’m doing something wrong for not being able to afford a new credit payment. After I said I couldn’t pay for the gum treatment at the moment, the man, whoever he was, tried to convince me to get braces. His inability to listen to my concerns were compounded by his poor grasp of English. He left the room after I got upset that he wasn’t listening and never returned. I will not go back to this clinic. They just want to profit off of people.

Google Review Posted On: 05/06/2026 I went to this location due to some pain and needed an extraction. I must say when i walked in the front desk staff were exceptional ! As i went to the back to speak about what i needed. A gentleman name Julio i believed came in and told me that they won’t be able to do an extraction unless i pay for a bone graph. And a replacement tooth that would cost $5000. I specifically asked, so if i don’t get the bone graph you can’t pull my tooth due to the massive pain I’m in. They claimed it’s their policy. And started asking me to finance and run my credit. I grabbed my things and left out.

I scheduled an appointment and specifically told them what I wanted to be checked on, and I feel like it was a waste of time. The front desk people were friendly, but the dentist was not. I felt like she rushed me and had a problem with me, asking questions about my dental health. During my dental cleaning, I noticed that he was rough, and there were still plaque on my teeth afterwards, which shows a lack of care. Google Review Posted On: 12/26/2025 Went here for a routine check up. Everyone was nice up until I saw the actual dentist. She was dark skin with long braids, glasses and really young. She came off as real stand off ish. I told her I already knew what was wrong with my teeth. She saw I had a cavity and pressed down on it. Saw I was visibly in pain and continued to spray air on it to confirm I was in pain. OBVIOUSLY when you pressed on it and saw my reaction, why try it again. Didn’t even do a regular cleaning but tried to get me to pay for a deep cleaning of $5,500. All my years of living, all my deep cleanings been free. DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. If you need to step out to grab a bite or a drink, just let them know—they’ll call you when it’s your turn (just don’t go too far). The office itself is clean, modern, and well-maintained. I visited Flatland Family Dental for a routine six-month cleaning. After my initial X-rays and exam, the female hygieneist (because i don't think a proper dentist can ever do that), informed me I urgently needed a 'deep cleaning' (scaling and root planing) and quoted me a staggering $5,500 out-of-pocket cost.
The issue is not just the high price, but the practice's policy: When I declined the $5,500 deep cleaning therapy, stating I wanted to seek a second opinion and just move forward with my scheduled routine cleaning, the staff informed me they would not perform the regular cleaning at all. They essentially refused service for the basic, preventative care I was scheduled and insured for, unless I agreed to the massive, costly procedure they recommended.
This felt less like healthcare and more like a high-pressure sales tactic. The refusal to provide routine care—a service I was expecting and covered for—because I wouldn't commit to a $5,500 procedure is unacceptable and deeply questionable. It gives the strong impression that this practice prioritizes maximizing profits through expensive treatments over patient choice and basic dental health. Never coming to this practice ever again, the business also lost all my family members as patients who use to come here.
